2001 BT Welsh Feature Writer of the Year
Deary me, was I chuffed to get this award! I won for a feature about motherhood on the Gurnos sink estate for One Wales magazine. It’s not reproduced here but if you want to see it let me know. The repercussions of this feature have been long lasting too: I’ve since started working voluntarily with teen mums in the South Wales valleys at the Books n Babies school, giving pregnant teens vital support and the chance of an education.
